Oh twitter…

Oh Twitter, how I love you so… except when you’re not working right. Then I want to blow you up. Today, I felt the need to secure @Dilsplace and @Musicweekly for myself. First, I tried “@MusicWeekly”, but its not available so I looked through the user list..nothing. I went to the URL directly and there it was. Registered with no tweets.

I will get the handle. Its going to happen. Soon.

Found a way to get two different wallpapers on both of my monitors. I hate the massive change in resolution though. 1024×768 and 1680×1050. I’ll live.

Today = Best Day Evar!

Woooooo! Today, Coheed and Cambria officially announced the release date for “The Year Of the Black Rainbow”. 4.13.10!! They also announced that the pre-order is imminent.

I CANT WAIT!!

:)

What the…. how’d that happen?

It’s 1am, I’m trying to get my hackintosh working fully, and I’m eating ravioli. Typical blog post time, right?

Woke up at my grandparents house like I usually do on Sundays. Showered, packed, all that good stuff. Got my grandpa off to work (truck driver) and went out to eat with my grandma. Seemingly normal day, right? Right.

Got done eating, finished getting everything off, had to drop off a computer I fixed over the weekend. That went well. Then I got home. Parked the truck in my/my step-dads spot and came in the house. I had wanted a Mountain Dew since I left my grandparents house, but I didn’t feel the need to stop just for myself. However, my step dad wanted a Dr Pepper. Me being the awesome, nice kid that appreciates the “I don’t care where you go, just as long as I know where you’re going” attitude that he has towards me driving his truck, I said I’d go down, and refused money. Of course, I asked mom if she wanted anything and she did, so off I went…

Then I got home, parked the truck and came inside. I usually keep it out of gear, and didn’t really see the need for the parking brake/forgot to put it on. For those who do not know what that would cause, it would allow it to move really easily. Now the confusing part. The truck rolled backwards. Whats the big deal, right? The big deal is that I can NOT think of any logical explanation as of how it would have rolled. It didn’t roll back 1 foot, 4 foot, or 5 foot, It rolled about a whole car length.  I do not think there was wind outside, though there must have been. Our driveway is perfectly flat. Its just weird. Weird things bother me like that.

Thanks for reading… I have an OS to set up.

Pants On The Ground… The Acoustic version? #pantsontheground

This is pretty cool. Not a bad sounding version of the very awesome original.

Did you guys hear that “General” Larry Platt got a record deal today? He deserves it, since William Hung got one.

Was browsing around for a new wallpaper today.. I am getting tired of landscapes. This wallpaper is pretty cool.

oooh, new music this week?

Its not very often that something happens in the music world that I give two craps about. New albums are almost always nice. This tweet from @Coheed

There will be announcements this week… a smaller one tomorrow for sure… then they will just start coming more and more.

Makes me very happy. I’m hoping for pre-order info, a couple singles, and the release date. Its going to be AWESOME!

The woes of owning a computer… Part Two: The Awesome Edition

Some of you may have read this post (if you haven’t, I recommend doing so) and know about my recent computer problems. Well, It’s all fixed! (for now, at least).

I had to wipe off Leopard and Windows 7 (I was running the Release Candidate) and start all over again. That wasn’t too hard thanks to Ninite.com. It installs everything for me except:

  • Adobe Air + Tweetdeck
  • Zune Software
  • MS Office 2010 beta

Not to mention, it does it QUICK. I chose what I wanted, downloaded, and installed everything in around 10 minutes. If you use windows and reformat often (or at all) you should consider using this.

Now, to the AWESOME part of this post. It involves Matthew Arkin and the rest of Tech Trackr, along with MS. They received a serial number for Office 2007, and Windows 7 ultimate and decided to give them away in a contest on the website. Well, Today I was on twitter and Matthew tweeted at one of the other writers, Max telling him to pick the winners. A little while later, I got a tweet from Matthew saying “guess what?” and my jaw dropped. I did it. I won a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate! I was speechless. I couldn’t even get it out when I tried to tell my mom and step dad. I was so happy.

Luckily, the day before I had already downloaded an un-touched copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. Both 32-Bit and 64-bit. I looked around on the internet and learned that one serial will activate more than one computer that you own, and works on either 32 or 64 bit. My laptop has 4gb of RAM, So I use 64-bit and my desktop is older (Pentium 4 HT, for those who are interested) so i’m stuck with 32 bit. Well, I was able to activate both computers! So thanks to them, I now have legally activated copies of Windows 7 Ultimate on both of my computers, and you sure as heck can’t beat that.

Those who know me, know that I win a decent amount of stuff. You know that saying, “Help others and you will be helped”? Well, I believe in that. From volunteering at the Humane Society, to helping my grandparents work on the house, to helping with traffic during parades, I help. Sometimes its not much, but its something. I used to be the type that never won anything, then I started helping others and doing other good things. I don’t want to list everything I have won, and it really a long list by any means, but it has stuff on it, and that’s awesome!

Well, enough babbling. Its 2am on the east coast. Goodnight y’all.

The woes of owning a computer…

Why is it that every time my computer decides to mess up, it is 2am? Is it telling me to start going to bed earlier? I’m starting to think so.

Some of you may know, that I have been playing around with Leopard on my desktop. You heard me right, Mac OS X Leopard. 10.5.6 to be exact. Just because I’m a zuner, and dislike iPods, does not mean I cannot be interested in the OS. Its actually quite nice. Its different. I like different.

Anywho, while playing with OSX86, I had to do some things that broke everything else. Of course, I do not have a way to fix what i broke (easily at least). At the moment of typing this message, I currently cant boot into anything, after just installing XP. Sigh…

Wish me luck… I’m internet schooled so I’m kinda dependent on windows + word (preferably Office 2010)

Its 3am, I’m going to get it so I have OSX booting and I am SLEEPING.

Update: some how, my leopard install got wiped. I am hanging my head in shame for not catching it. I JUST got it set up perfectly. FML. Sleep.
