You offer the zune pass, expecting people to use it. With the 3.1 software, There wasn’t really enough to make it worth it for me. Then you gave us 4.0, along with SmartDJ and listen from any browser. I thought I’d go ahead and try it for a month. Nothing like SmartDJ that also includes the marketplace songs, right? I thought so.

Things were going well, until last night. I wanted some 70’s progressive rock, and already owning Rush’s entire discography, I wanted me some “Yes“. I realized that the album “fragile” was only 11 songs (the remastered version). I have 1200 spare points, plus i had 8 credits from my Zune Pass. I started buying the first four songs off the album, (I didnt really think it would mess up…really) and then they gave an error, Code C00D1197. Saying it cant play it because its not on my computer or something stupid, and totally not related to the problem. So I googled for a bit (it was like 2am) and posted on forums.zune.net (here). Talking to some other members of zune nation, on twitter, it came clear that I would have to call tech support. Having a stutter, talking on the phone makes me stutter really bad, to where I cannot get anything out. So calling is pretty much out of the question, I think. I guess i’ll just have to live without the credits unless something turns up that I can get help online. Hopefully that is possible, or MS just lost a Zune Pass subscriber.

So today, Marques (@Tromboneforhire) on twitter tweeted about a zune article, about how the ZuneHD is “doomed” and while reading the ridiculous four page article, I saw the “email the author” link, and decided to share my thoughts. Here is the email that I sent to him.

Hello. After reading your article about the Zune, and how “it is doomed” made me realize how dumb people can be. Instead of typing a useless 4 page article about why i think this (also 4 page) article is retarded.

First: That image of the zune software? Thats 1.x FROM 2006! I dont know about you, But i’m living in 2009, using the 4.0 zune Software.

Second: When are people going to realize that market share doesn’t make the device? Sure, its nice to sell a lot of something, But it doesn’t make the device “crap” or “doomed”. Before you write another ZuneHD article, do me a favor, and actually.. you know.. research?
